Process Streamlining
In order to remain competitive, business need to continuously upgrade and streamline their business processes. One way to do it is to hire a big name consulting firm. The other way is to hire me at a fraction of the cost. Why, because I have know-how and a track-record of success, but not the bureaucracy and administrative costs. So I’m able to deliver high-quality performance at an affordable price.
Power Automate Workflows
Power Automate, formerly Microsoft Flow, is a cloud-based tool used to create workflow automation to streamline and optimize frequent, repeatable tasks. It connects applications such as Outlook, Google, SharePoint, OneDrive, Salesforce, Twitter, Instagram,
to synchronize files, get notifications, and collect data. In a Power Automate workflow, actions are taken based on triggers.
It can monitor events and key processes in your system so that when certain conditions exist or certain events occur it automatically triggers some action, such as sending out a notification or launching an automated process.
Power Automate is best for automating the mundane and repetitive tasks that consume huge amounts of time on a daily basis. I’ll work closely with your team to free them from this burden, so they can focus on what’s more important, growing your business.
Automated Reconciliations
Just about every company has some kind of reconciliation process that they do, monthly, weekly or even daily. There are external ones, the most common are usually with bank, vendor, customer, business partner or a third party. There are also internal reconciliations, such those needed to balance your accounting sub-ledgers and GL. Many are very specific to an industry, or a requirement in a business agreement or contractual relationship. This type in particular can be a challenge because there is usually no software available to address them.
I have a long history of solving very complex reconciliation problems of every type, and in the process, have saved my clients time, money and frustration.
Price Estimating Systems
Pricing products and services is one of the most crucial parts of doing business and many companies struggle with it. To develop a competitive price quote the preparer usually needs to have a deep understanding of the operations side of the business and it’s cost drivers, as well as fair amount of number-crunching skill. There often are a large number of variables that effect the price, managing them can be difficult and errors can be costly.
I have many years of experience in designing advanced pricing models that make it easy for the average person to prepare a price quote. The systems I develop virtually eliminate errors and can be integrated with accounting and time collection systems to measure actual versus planned performance. Over the long term, this capability provides clients with greater insight and understanding of their business. I’m capable of providing any assistance you might need in this area.
Custom Add-on Utilities
|
Despite spending considerable sums on off-the-shelf software, many companies find it fails to address some of their most critical requirements . That is because pre-packaged software is primarily designed to optimize the developer’s market share which means it’s designed to meet the typical end user’s requirements, not those of any one company. On the other hand, it is hard for a growing company to afford the high initial cost and long development cycle that is usually associated with a custom solution. I offer an answer to this dilemma, namely custom add-on utility applications. Add-ons are utility programs I develop, usually in Excel or sometimes Access, to target a specific function for streamlining. It might be as simple as a single macro or as complex as a multi-featured application that interacts with your ERP system. Most of my apps start by making a connection to your system’s backend database and extracting its data so it can be used for whatever purpose. I can then transform it, combine it with data from other sources and create reports, dashboards, pivot tables or whatever else is required. I can also export the data to another system, API or whatever you might need. What I have described is something I’ve done with great success for many years. Therefore I’m confident that whatever you need, I can provide. |
Drill-down Pivot Tables
As you can probably tell, I’m a big fan of Pivot Tables, one of the reasons is their flexibility, you can use them in many different ways. I use them in process streamlining to get quick answers to questions. Imagine you are running a process and you see a number that doesn’t make sense, I’ll let you click on it and pop up a pivot table that has all the information details behind that number. This allows you to validate and answer questions on the spot, without interrupting your process.
Data Migration
Another thing I do very well is data migration. Data migration is the process of moving data from one location to another on a large scale. This is frequently done as part of a new system implementation, but can also be to consolidate a newly acquired business or product line, move from a legacy data store to a better performing one or to move from on-premises to cloud-based applications.
Data migrations run the gamut of complexity, they can be as relatively simple as extracting and consolidating the data from a large number of Excel spreadsheets or as complex as migrating from a legacy accounting system to a more modern one. I have many years of experience and a substantial part of my career has involved some sort of data migration. I’ve had the leading role in projects of every type and complexity, so if this is your need, I can certainly assist you.
